Progress in Optoelectronics and Communications (POC) is an open-access, international journal that publishes innovative research in all areas of optoelectronics and communications, including fundamental and applied research. The journal publishes top-quality original papers and review articles, reflecting significant advances and breakthroughs in theoretical and experimental research and novel applications with considerable potential. It is sponsored by the Wuhan Research Institute of Post & Telecommunications Co., Ltd. and Chinese Optical Society. The journal is led by Editors-in-Chief Professor William Shieh and Professor Changyuan Yu.
Aims and Scope:
Progress in Optoelectronics and Communications covers cutting-edge research and innovations across the entire ecosystem of light-based telecommunications. This includes optoelectronic devices (lasers, modulators, detectors, PICs), transmission technologies (advanced modulation, DSP, fiber/wireless integration), and network architectures (core/metro/access networks, 5G/6G fronthaul, data center interconnects). The journal emphasizes high-speed systems (terabit-class), coherent optics, SDN/NFV control, and emerging paradigms like quantum communications, integrated sensing-communication (ISAC), and AI-optimized networks. It addresses challenges in capacity, latency, energy efficiency, and scalability—from component design to field deployment—enabling next generation secure, ultra-low latency global connectivity.

《光电子与通信进展》是一本开放获取的国际期刊,致力于发表光电子与通信领域的创新性研究,包括基础研究和应用研究,反映理论和实验研究的重大进展和突破,以及具有相当潜力的新应用。该期刊由武汉邮电科学研究院有限公司和中国光学学会主办,依托于光通信技术和网络全国重点实验室,由谢伟教授和余长源教授担任主编。2026年5月创刊(双月刊)。
