High Power Laser Science and Engineering

High Power Laser Science and Engineering (HPL) was launched in 2013. It is co-sponsored by the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Chinese Optical Society. HPL is an international, peer-reviewed open access (OA) journal, published by the Chinese Laser Press and Cambridge University Press.

HPL is the only professional academic journal that comprehensively reflects the large-scale scientific engineering in optics. It focuses on publishing the latest theoretical research, cutting-edge technologies, and engineering application achievements in the field of high power lasers, especially in inertial confinement fusion, laboratory astrophysics, laser-matter interaction, and high energy density physics.

HPL was included in SCIE in 2017 and has been successively indexed by important databases such as EI and Scopus. The latest JCR impact factor released in 2024 is 5.2, placing it in the Quartile 1 of the JCR optics category.

The editorial board members, authors, and readers of HPL cover more than 100 countries worldwide. It has published research results from many renowned scientists in the international high power laser field, including Nobel Prize in Physics laureate Gérard Mourou. Currently, HPL has become one of the most representative journals in the international high power laser field.


《高功率激光科学与工程》(HPL)创刊于2013年,是由中国科学院上海光学精密机械研究所与中国光学学会共同主办,由中国激光杂志社和剑桥大学出版社合作出版的全英文开放获取(OA)期刊。

HPL是国际上唯一一本全面反映光学大科学工程的专业期刊,专注于发表高功率激光领域的最新理论研究、最前沿的技术及工程应用成果,尤其是在惯性约束聚变、实验室天体物理,激光与物质相互作用、高能量密度物理等方向。

HPL2017年被SCIE收录,并陆续被 EI, Scopus等多种数据库收录。2024年发布的最新JCR 影响因子为5.2 位于JCR光学类 Q1区;同时位于中科院期刊分区的物理与天体物理一区。期刊连续2次入选“中国科技期刊卓越行动计划”项目,并多次获得“中国最具国际影响力期刊”称号。

HPL的编委、作者、读者覆盖全球100多个国家,已经发表了国际高功率激光领域多个著名科学家的研究成果,包括诺贝尔物理学奖得主Gérard Mourou等。目前HPL已经成为国际高功率激光领域最有代表性的刊物之一。
